Mentoring Wednesday (2/2) (including Pizza!) mentors will work with mentees. Students will set goals, and will be done on Survey Monkey.  Local law enforcement along with Judge Beatty will be involved in mentoring program at monthly focus sessions next week.

New Members November 2010

Attached is the permission form for the Patriot Pals Mentoring Program. Mentees on the list will meet following the morning announcements on Monday 11/15 regarding permission slips, program kick off, and student expectations in the program. Have students bring the signed permission slips to the meeting. Otherwise, place them in my mailbox when they are returned to you.


Staff will have a brief discussion about protocols regarding mentor/teacher interaction, confidentiality, etc. at a grade level meetings during the 'good of the order' portion of the meeting. (5 min).

Mentors will meet briefly next Wednesday 11/17 after school for training (25 min). You will receive student referrals, academic/behavioral profiles, and general information about the program and expectations. If you have not committed to being a mentor and want to participate, let me know.

Patriot Pals March Updates

Email names of students who complete their monthly goals by Friday March 19.  They must attend the meeting next Tuesday on March 23 in order to win the 1st, 2nd or 3rd place prize money.  Please indicate the goal completed.

We will have a Mentee/Mentor/Parent Breakfast and a Mentor Loca College Tour over the next few months.  These activities will be discussed at the meeting on Tuesday March 23.  Mentoring Committee Members are encouraged to attend.  The meeting will be held in the media center at 2:00.

In order to accommodate mentees and mentors, please see Ms. Wilson-Moore if you would like to donate snacks or drinks for this group. 

Patriot Pals Meeting

The next Patriot Pals Meeting will be held in the Media Center on Thursday Feb. 25, 2010.  Mentors should submit names via email of students who have completed their monthly goals along with a description of the academic or behavioral goals completed.  Send names and completed goals to Ms. Wilson-Moore. Names of students will go into the raffle for first, second and third place cash prizes.  Students have to be present at the meeting to win. Following our monthly focus meeting, plan on attending the basketball championship game with your mentee after the meeting.
